Storytellers keep the oral tradition of story sharing alive, bringing present the most ancient form of communication and ritual. Storytellers protect endangered cultural and linguistic traditions for all generations, keeping them from becoming extinct. Humble, God-touched, poet-warriors, storytellers defend and cherish the tales and myths of our ancestors, connecting us to the soul-roots of who we are. Tellers help us know and remember the tragic, comic, beautiful and necessary so that we can grow forward in joy and make fewer mistakes born from ignorance. Brave, dramatic, creative and wonderful, storytellers bridge the wide roads between rural and urban, elder and young, man and woman, human and animal - re-minding us that we are all connected and have value. Laying bare their vulnerability, pain, triumphs and solace, storytellers are the shamans of today. When we hear them, we are changed. Our children are changed. I celebrate these storytellers who have brought limitless joy to our home - they are spirit in time. OneWomansMind.net has partnered with Amazon.com to offer product previews using simple mouseovers. ![]() Cajun Fairy Tales (American Storytelling) with J.J. Reneux |
Len Cabral - African and Global
We had the pleasure of seeing Len Cabral live and I wept at the close of his stories. I addressed him personally, weeping and telling him that God speaks through and with him. Cabral's stories are beautiful, fun and perfect. He is an amazing human being.
I can still hear Virginia Hamilton's voice saying "Taily-po..." with her wonderful, inspiring, chill-bump thrilling voice. Her work and her personna are eternal. Her stories are breathtaking and necessary.
Eddie Lenihan is such a dear, lovely and genuine person. His stories are part of the folklore I keep in my heart when people speak of the Faery. He taught me more in an hour than a lifetime of study. Enjoy.
Johnny Moses is engaging, magical and intense. His stories are personal and cultural and will enlighten and uplift, while making you regard yourself and life. I am honored that he shares his gifts with the world.
J.J. Renaux is fantastic fun and talent - for true!!! Her voice is spell-binding and she can weave a tale like few others. Wow! We adore her and you will too.
Note that these stories are narrated by George S. Irving, a phenomenal, engaged, dramatic, perfect storyteller! - oh and they are scary! Children who enjoy spooky tales will love these.
Laura Simms is the Queen or Lady of the Tale using her gifts to heal and promote peace. Unabashed and with abandon she takes you into cultures worldwide, hearing the love, loss and mystery of life experienced by all people. Sometimes spooky and always unforgettable, her voice and drama make stories real. She is the quintessential storyteller we all want to hear.
Gioia Timpanelli tells personal and village tales with a gentle, clear, lovely, regal tone. Her words paint pictures of home and family while her voice soothes and invites. She is divine.
