Native Americans
wisdom of our First Peoples

Native Americans are the First People who inhabited the United States. They have been here since the beginning and carry in their hearts, souls and genes the wisdom of Nature and the Great Spirit. Warriors, hunters, gatherers, artists, poets, shamen, shawomen, healers, weavers, potters and prophets, Native Americans embody strength, vision and perseverance. Native Americans have much to teach for those who listen - especially the children.

Native American mythology is a living part of their culture, ritual and belief systems. Native stories provide insight and understanding about their world and spiritual views, while offering life-affirming, planet-saving philosophy and ideology. Tricksters, warrior-heroes, heroines, animals and people share knowledge about why we are here and how to live in a healthy, Earth-honoring manner. Native American nations although different in many ways, share the most life-affirming vision: all humanity is joined as a part of Nature - and all of Nature matters. Below please find gorgeous, sometimes funny, always enlightening myths, folklore and stories from Native American cultures.
